Why is Five Card Stud classed as the Veteran Poker game
Five Card Stud is one of the oldest poker games, some will call it a classic. It may be less popular then other poker games as it is a game that is normally played at home rather then in a casino or online. This may be a draw back for many as to learn the game you will need practice and playing online will give you that. Some sites will have it available to play online. If you want to become an all round poker player Five Card Stud will be a good game to learn as most games will have similar traits.
It has been labelled with the veteran title as more modern poker games were based around Five Card Stud. Games such as Texas Hold’em and Omaha have large influences of the games. As time has moved on the rules and some on techniques would have changed. To make the game of Five Stud more user friendly for things such as the internet, alterations to the game have had to be made and instead of renaming it, they given it a new name. The original name has stuck but now we have more games to learn.
Some bits of Five Card Stud have still remained in modern day poker. Things such as the number of players, games starting with a forced bet and the goal is still the same. Over the years the goal has still remained the same and will remain the same for centuries to come.
