How to get more of a challenge out of poker

Whether you are a professional poker player or a novice playing for fun it is always good to have some form of challenge. If you are used to playing the same poker game on a regular basis it can become quite easy and the challenge might have disappeared. Most people when faced with a challenge will work harder therefore upping their game.

If you are confident at all poker games one way to challenge yourself and the other players you are playing with is to play Mixed poker. In mixed poker you will play several games at one table in rotation. This will give players a chance to stay at one table and play poker variants. Obviously with every new game comes new rules so it will challenge your mind and skills as you will need to stay focused at the game in hand. You will need to study the way others on your table play. As their game play may change from game to game making it harder to keep track of it.

If you feel confident at most poker games you may find this a perfect opportunity to win some money. Other players may on be really good at two or three variants making them weaker in others. This will make their money easy for the taking.

The variations of game you will play will be the decision of the organiser. Some will be set and others you will find out from game to game. Some popular variants are Fixed Limit Hold’em and Omaha, Pot Limit Hold’em and Omaha and to the more complicated Fixed Limit Hold’em, Omaha and Seven card stud eight of better.
